so this is gonna sound dumb but i need to say it because i wasted like 2 days on it. ROADS. build them. connect everything. i didnt and i was sitting there mad thinking the game is bugged. let me explain what happen. i founded my town, im all excited, i build a wood factory because i read wood is used in everything. cool. i go to hire a worker, i wait for it to produce... nothing. the building just sits there doing nothing. no production, nothing. i refresh, i log out, i log in, still nothing. i was ready to quit ngl. then someone in my country chat told me, did you connect it with a road. and im like what road. turns out EVERY building has to be connected to the town hall by a road. minimum level 1 road. if its not connected it basically doesnt exist, it cant work, you cant really use it. the town hall is like the center and everything has to have a path back to it. so i build roads from my buildings to the town hall and boom, suddenly everything works. felt so stupid but also so relieved. couple things i learned after about roads, sharing so you dont suffer like me: - minimum is level 1 road for normal buildings, but if you have higher level buildings they need better roads. like a fancy building wont be happy with a dirt path, you have to upgrade the road too. i found this out later when i upgraded a building and it complained until i upgraded the road to it. - when you are BUILDING a road its not active yet. this got me a second time lol. i placed a road, thought ok done, but it was still under construction so it didnt connect anything. its like a road closed for construction in real life, cars cant pass. you have to wait for the road to finish building, THEN it connects. so dont panic in the few hours its building, just wait. - roads expire. yeah. after 30 days a road is done and you have to deal with it again. honestly a lot of stuff in this game expires after 30 days, not just roads, so get used to checking your town and keeping things maintained. a road that expired = building disconnected again = production stops again. so keep an eye. so my advice for a brand new player. the SECOND you place a building, place the road to connect it to town hall before you do anything else. dont hire, dont get excited, just connect it first. make it a habit. connect, then build up, then hire. if you do it in that order you never sit there confused like i did wondering why your perfectly good factory is just standing there producing absolutely nothing. i know it sounds basic to old players but i swear half the new people quit in the first day because their stuff doesnt work and they dont know its just a missing road. the game doesnt slap you in the face and say HEY CONNECT YOUR ROAD, you kind of have to know it. so now you know. oh also intersections, when your town gets bigger you cant just have one road to everything, you need to branch it and intersections help connect multiple roads. im still figuring the efficient layouts tbh, my town looks like spaghetti right now, but as long as every building has a valid path to the town hall it works. pretty is for later, working is for now. anyway thats my road rant. respect the roads. they look boring but they are literally what makes your whole town function. gl out there

This article completely changed how I play CoinRepublik. I used to ignore roads and focus only on buildings, but after reading this detailed rant I finally understand how crucial they are for efficient resource flow and city growth. Building roads first is genuinely one of the best early-game tips I’ve received. The author’s passion is funny and spot on. Must-read!

This is so true. I also built with no planning and i ended up buying raws from market because new building coud not producr. its also annoying you cant upgrade your old buildings becuae you have no roads. the good way to start the game is to slowly build roads first up to level 3.

I think that Road expires in 30 days is somewhat he game become boring and not interesting, and the developer should think it over because the cost and time being used to renew the road. I just try the game for a few days and I feel this game is rather boring

Great article! It highlights how crucial roads are for connecting buildings to the town hall and ensuring production works properly. I like the practical advice: build roads first, upgrade them for higher‑level buildings, and remember they expire after 30 days. The personal story makes it relatable, and the clear tips help beginners avoid frustration. Respect the roads indeed!
