The answer is actually short and clear: buying in the current market is neither profitable nor logical. So, what should we do? Those who have already reached a certain level in the game know what to do. However, for beginners and those at the initial level, I must point this out: producing materials is not as easy as it seems. Production involves a significant investment of time and cost. To produce gold, for instance, you need—at a minimum—oak wood, gold ore, titanium, alcohol, beef, and tobacco. Purchasing these items costs more than the value of the gold you would produce. Furthermore, to produce these items yourself, you need to upgrade the corresponding farms to level 5. For farms to reach level 5, you must also upgrade facilities linked to the Town Hall—such as roads, the outpost, and the market—and ensure your farms are located within the coverage area of these facilities. Additionally, you will need the very materials produced by your upgraded farms to further develop your facilities. For instance, to upgrade a brick farm to level 2, the connecting roads must also be level 2, you need an available worker, and the farm must be within the market's coverage area. Furthermore, you will incur significant energy costs for material production and upgrades during this process; you could easily burn through 1,000 energy without even reaching level 3. To handle this efficiently, you need to work strategically. Your production farms must be located within the coverage areas of both the market and the outpost. Do not waste your initial resources by immediately building gold farms. Of course, produce gold whenever you have the means, but your primary focus should be upgrading your production farms to level 5. With a strategic approach, you can gain access to gold-producing farms faster than many other players. Since you will also be producing advanced materials during this time, you can establish a strong position for yourself in the market. If you are considering upgrading your gold mine, do not rush into it at the start. While upgrading the mine does allow you to produce significantly more gold, the consumption of oak, gold ore, titanium, alcohol, beef, and tobacco increases exponentially. It goes without saying that these production processes require a substantial amount of time and energy. Another point to consider is that a significant amount of chicken meat is required to upgrade your farms and open up new areas. Consequently, there is high demand for chicken meat in the market. Chicken meat production is quite insufficient at the starting level; the output volume is lower compared to that of other resources. Therefore, I recommend acquiring more than one chicken farm—and doing so strategically. You need space to set up a farm, and clearing an area costs 100 units of chicken meat and takes 6 hours. To cover this cost from a single farm, you would need to complete five production cycles. While you can produce 20 units of chicken meat per hour, you often need larger quantities. This contrasts with other farms, which can produce 80–100 units (for instance, wheat production yields 30 units). In my own experience developing my village, I found that I most frequently ran short on chicken meat. At the early stages, other farms manage to meet your needs, but chicken meat production falls short. Thus, establishing multiple chicken farms would be to your advantage. Good luck to all players.

That's right. Indeed, the first stage of city development requires a lot of resources for those who are just starting out. With the gold obtained from the Learning modules, you can barely scrape together level 3 for houses and maybe level 2 for the most important production buildings. You nailed the exact minimum requirement for infrastructure. However, with a little patience, as soon as you unlock the Marketplace section, you can wait for some cheaper deals. Nobody is rushing you to finish the city in the first month. Have you made a plan? What kind of city do you want: - production-focused? - military-focused to attack other cities? - a market speculator? The 7 initial houses, raised to level 10, give you a 100% happiness rate but also a city of 140 inhabitants. Where are you going to place them? That's the plan!

I agree with the general warning against rushing into gold production. The hidden cost is not only the materials consumed by the mine itself, but the entire infrastructure and production chain required to support it. That said, I think the recommendation to focus on upgrading every production farm to level 5 should be treated as a strong strategy rather than an absolute rule. Different cities may have different opportunities depending on their layout, market conditions, and access to resources.
