Laws

Coinrepublik features a structured and dynamic political system that gives players the power to shape their nation’s economy and strategy. This system includes laws, taxes, bonuses, wars, and safeguards, offering a balance between flexibility and stability.

At its core are laws—the primary tool for changing national policies. Only premium gold citizens can propose new laws, but all players with citizenship in the affected country can vote. For example, only players based in Romania can vote on Romanian laws.

Laws can adjust bonuses (which provide in-game advantages), modify tax rates, or declare wars. The system ensures that impactful changes reflect the will of the player community.

Voting Process:

A premium gold citizen proposes a law (e.g., changing the iron sales tax).

The proposal becomes public for voting.

A 24-hour voting window opens. Players cast yes or no votes.

Voting Power is weighted. The size of a player’s workforce determines their influence. A player with 100 workers holds 100 voting power; a player with 25 workers holds 25 voting power. This ensures players who have invested more in their towns have more influence.

For a law to pass:

At least 10 players must vote.

The total yes voting power must exceed the no voting power.

Once passed, the law takes immediate effect.
