Ciao ragazzi, Uthar from Italy. Allora, I want to tell you about a thing that happen to me and made me very sad, so that you can avoid it. It is about your citizens, your workers, the people of your town. Because I learned the hard way that they are not forever. So in this game, to produce anything you need a worker inside the building. The worker do the job, you collect the product. Normal. But here is the thing nobody tell me in the start: the workers that you recruit, they are not immortal. They have a lifespan, they get old, and purtroppo they die. And how long do they live? It depend on the HAPPINESS of your town. This is the key. If your town happiness is low, like 50 percent, a new citizen live more or less 50 days. If your town is nice and happy, with good tall houses, they can live around 60 days. So the happiness is not only a nice number to look at, it is literaly the life of your people. Che disastro if you ignore it. Now my sad story. I had a worker in my production, making a long cycle, many hours. And I did not pay attention that this worker was already old, near the end of his life. And in the middle of the production... he died. Mamma mia. And when the worker die in the middle, the production STOP immediately and you get NOTHING. Not even a part of it. All the materials I put inside, all the time, all gone with him. Che disastro completo. So now I know two important things and I share them with you ragazzi. First, keep your town happy. A happy town = workers that live longer = your production is safe and your people dont die so fast. Build good houses, take care of the happiness. It is not only decoration, it protect your economy. Second, be careful which worker you put on a long job. If a citizen is already old, near his end, dont give him a 10 hour production, because maybe he die in the middle and you lose everything. Better to put a young one on the long jobs. Piano piano you learn to think about this. A small good news also: not all the citizens die. The founding citizens, the ones your town start with, they never get old and never die. And also the people you hire into your founding buildings, those are permanent too. So this original crew is safe forever. But the new ones that you recruit into normal buildings, those ones are mortal, those you must watch. Also, check your Events page, it is Home then Events. When a citizen die, or a production have a problem, it is written there. If you read it, you can react fast - recruit a new one, fix the building - before the problem become big. I was not reading my events and that is also one reason why I was surprise. Now I read it every time I connect. So that is my lesson, ragazzi. Your workers are people, they live and they die, and their life depend on you keeping the town happy. Dont be like me crying for a lost production. Keep them happy, watch the old ones, and read your events. Grazie for reading, and in bocca al lupo with your town. Ciao from Italia. Uthar

This article hit hard. I lost my best specialist the same way and it set me back hours of progress. Your story is a brutal but necessary reminder that in CoinRepublik you should never rely on a single worker for important productions. I’ve started keeping backup workers and spreading out my queues now. Thanks for the honest warning!

This article is a valuable warning for new players. It explains clearly that workers have a limited lifespan tied to town happiness, and if they die during production, everything is lost. The author’s personal story makes the lesson memorable: keep citizens happy, assign long jobs to younger workers, and check the Events page. It’s practical advice that helps avoid costly mistakes and protects your economy.

A very useful reminder for new players. The fact that workers can die during production is easy to overlook until it happens, and the losses can be quite painful. I also think the Events page deserves more attention than most beginners give it. Keeping an eye on happiness and planning long production runs around worker lifespan is one of those small habits that saves a lot of resources in the long run. Thanks for sharing your experience!
