The Day We Got Hit With 25% State Taxes I still remember logging into CoinRepublik that morning thinking it would be just another ordinary day. Like most days, I had a routine. I would collect my production, start a few new manufacturing runs, check the Marketplace for good deals, and maybe invest a little more into expanding my city. Nothing unusual. Everything was running smoothly, and after weeks of planning my production chains, I finally felt like my economy was beginning to stabilize. Then I opened the production page. At first, I thought I had clicked the wrong menu. There it was, staring back at me. State Production Tax: 25%. I actually paused for a moment. Twenty-five percent? Was that real? I checked it again because surely I had misunderstood something. Maybe it was a temporary event. Maybe I was reading another country's tax rate. Unfortunately, I wasn't. Our country had voted for the maximum production tax. Suddenly, every production decision felt different. The calculations I had been making the day before no longer worked the same way. Every batch of raw materials, every production cycle, and every gram of gold I planned to mine would now return significantly less than I had expected. My first reaction was frustration. "How are we supposed to grow like this?" I couldn't help but wonder if it even made sense to continue producing certain goods. Some of my lower-profit industries suddenly looked far less attractive. Margins that were already small became even smaller. I started questioning whether it was smarter to stop producing altogether and simply wait for the taxes to change. Then another thought crossed my mind. If I was feeling this pressure, every other producer in the country probably was too. That realization changed the way I looked at the situation. Instead of asking how the taxes affected only my city, I started wondering how they would affect the entire national economy. Would players reduce production? Would certain products become scarce? Would Marketplace prices increase because fewer people were willing to manufacture goods? Could this actually create new opportunities for those willing to adapt? I still hope the tax rate comes down soon. Twenty-five percent is difficult for any producer to absorb, especially newer players who are still trying to establish their cities. High taxes can discourage investment, reduce production, and slow the growth of an entire country's economy. At the same time, challenges like these force us to rethink our strategies and often make us better players in the long run. For now, I'm adapting as best I can. I'm paying closer attention to profitability, choosing my production runs more carefully, and trying to make every unit of energy and every resource count. It certainly wasn't the surprise I was expecting when I logged in that day, but I suppose that's part of what makes CoinRepublik's economy feel so dynamic and alive. I'd genuinely love to hear how other mayors are adapting to life under a 25% state tax rate. Was this something that only happened in our country, or are other nations experiencing the same situation? Have you changed your production strategy, relied more on the Marketplace, or simply decided to wait it out? I hope to see you in the comments. I'm really curious to hear how everyone else is dealing with it.

I completely understand the shock you felt upon logging in and seeing that 25% production tax rate. It is a massive adjustment that forces every player to rethink their entire economic strategy overnight. While it is frustrating to see margins shrink so unexpectedly, I think you hit the nail on the head regarding the broader impact on the national economy. It is essentially a stress test for our production chains. Personally, I have started prioritizing only high-value goods and waiting for market stabilization before restarting my full manufacturing lines. It will be interesting to see if this tax remains or if the community will rally to pressure for a change. Thanks for starting this discussion, as it is exactly what we need to figure out how to survive these challenging economic shifts together.

Did your country also got hit? I went to check in Politics, and saw a lot of countries hit with that, but some others no.... Rumania for instance has a normal 9.8% average tax...

It was a bug. It was solved.

Here is how the system works: The 25% Tax: If a country's budget drops below 100 EUR (in local fiat), a protection system automatically activates. This cancels all bonuses and applies a 25% tax until the budget goes over 200 EUR. How to fix it: The only solution is to move to a wealthier country. Citizenship Rules: In a public CoinRepublik country, your join request must be approved by a GOLD or VIP member. In private countries, only the country owner can approve it. Interesting experience and a great example of how quickly the economy in CoinRepublik can change. A 25% state production tax must have a significant impact, especially for players who have carefully optimized their production chains around smaller profit margins. I think you made an important point: when the rules change, the best response isn't always to stop producing, but to adapt and look at the bigger picture. If many players reduce production at the same time, Marketplace prices and resource availability could change significantly, creating new opportunities for players who are willing to adjust their strategy. It will be interesting to see how the community responds if the 25% tax remains in place. Will production decrease, will prices rise, or will players find new ways to stay profitable? These kinds of economic changes definitely make the game more dynamic. Hopefully the tax rate will come down again soon, but until then, I think the best strategy is exactly what you described: calculate carefully, adapt, and make every production decision count. Good luck to all the mayors dealing with the 25% tax! Let's see who can adapt the best.

I completely understand the shock of logging in and seeing a 25% production tax staring back at you! It forces you to completely recalculate your margins and rethink your entire daily routine. This is actually the exact scenario where holding an active Premium membership proves its true value, as the handbook notes that Premium citizens are completely exempt from the country's production tax and any war tributes. However, if you are playing without Premium, surviving these brutal taxes means you must eliminate all unnecessary overhead. This is where vertical growth becomes mandatory. By upgrading a few core houses and factories to level 10 rather than spreading out horizontally, you massively reduce your daily maintenance costs and save your energy.

The publication offers an interesting perspective on how tax policies can affect the economy in CoinRepublik. It explains the challenges of adapting to higher production taxes while encouraging strategic thinking instead of frustration. The article highlights the importance of flexibility, planning, and understanding how economic changes create both difficulties and new opportunities.
